Bio

Mr. Fitzpatrick has over thirty years of experience in the healthcare industry. He has held senior positions at AmerisourceBergen, Smith & Nephew. Pfizer, National Medical Care, CooperVision and American Hospital Supply. During his career, Mr.Fitzpatrick has commercialized hundreds of products in over thirty six different countries. He has designed, developed and launched products for small, medium and large medical device companies. Mr. Fitzpatrick has deep experience across all medical specialties. He has directed large teams commercializing surgical instruments, capital equipment, disposable and implant products. He has extensive experience working with inventive surgeons with respect to product development. During his tenure at Smith & Nephew, he designed, implemented and managed the InVentures program. This unique program set an industry standard and is one the one of the fastest prototype development programs in the medical industry. As Director of Sales & Marketing for Smith & Nephew, he participated in the acquisitions of various orthopedic medical device companies. In terms of product innovation, he was instrumental in the development of the first arthroscopic hip instruments in the United States. The inventor & author, Dr. Thomas Byrd acknowledges Mr. Fitzpatrick's contributions in his book, Hip Arthroscopy. Mr. Fitzpatrick's vast Sports Medicine experience has allowed him to work with many of the top surgeons around the world. This includes working with many of the team physicians from the NFL. He has worked with surgeons operating at some of the most prestigious hospitals in the world. As Director of Marketing & Key Accounts, Mr. Fitzpatrick managed hundreds of surgeons under contract as surgical advisors. As Director of Compliance, he also played a critical role implementing new corporate policies based on the Department of Justice activities & findings in the medical device industry. And he has headed up several teams recruited to turn around medium size medical device companies. Mr. Fitzpatrick has been a guest lecturer at Dean College and spoken at both medical device trade shows and industry events. He has a BS in Marketing Cum Laude, from the Carroll School of Management at Boston College and an MBA from Babson College. He also enjoys hiking, fishing and watching football.
