Greg Montagna is a managing director in the chemicals & materials group at Piper Sandler. He is responsible for executing merger, acquisition and capital raising transactions for public and private companies in chemicals and related industries globally. Montagna has 15 years of mergers and acquisitions experience during which he has announced transactions with a cumulative deal value of over $40 billion. He has advised world class companies and private equity firms across industries, including global industrials, healthcare, consumer, telecommunications, media, technology, real estate and business services, in a range of transactions, including split-offs, hostile defense, strategic alternatives, growth and acquisition financings and divestitures as well as public-to-public, cross-border and private mergers and acquisitions. Previously, he was a managing director at The Valence Group. Montagna has executed transactions with both public and private specialty and commodity chemicals companies as well as biochemicals, packaging and services. Prior to The Valence Group, Montagna was a senior vice president at Jefferies LLC which he joined in 2010. Before Jefferies, Montagna worked at CIBC-Oppenheimer and Bear Stearns. Montagna holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the Indiana University Kelly School of Business and a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from Indiana University.
