Robin is a managing director at Oaklins DeSilva+Phillips in New York, where she heads up the education and book publishing sectors. She also leads Oaklins’ education & training team. Robin has closed more than 50 transactions focused on technology information services in education, trade publishing and healthcare to companies that include Oracle, Amazon, Pearson, McGraw-Hill, Discovery Education, Wiley, Macmillan and Cengage Learning and to private equity firms such as The Riverside Company and CIP. Robin has advised clients on M&A transactions including the sale of Big Universe to K12, Mondo Education to Carnegie Learning, n2y to The Riverside Company and then to Providence Equity, Vocado to Oracle, and sold Amazon their first book publishing company. Prior to joining the firm in 2012, Robin was at The van Tulleken Company/Quayle Munro international banks for nine years. She had 18 years of high-level operational experience, including as EVP at Golden Books, VP of marketing at Simon & Schuster and VP of mass marketing sales and product manager at Grosset & Dunlap (acquired by Penguin Books). She also spent two years in the education division of the Young Presidents’ Organization. Robin has the US Financial Industry Regulatory Authority’s Series 7 and Series 65 licenses.
