Bio

Greg Widroe is the CEO of MVP Capital. He co-founded the Telecom Group in 2000. Since that time he has advised on over $3 billion of transactions in the communications space. Based on his passion for the environment and the belief that capital creates the possibility for change, he started the Renewable Energy Group at MVP Capital in 2012. Since that time the group, has been responsible for bringing over $400 million of new capital to the renewable energy industry. One of Greg’s longest client relationships is with Alta Communications. He met Tim Dribble in 1997 through their shared interested in whitewater kayaking. Over the past 18 years, they have completed six deals together. Greg’s industry experience is extensive: he has been involved in telecommunications since he founded a cable television company, Apollo Communications in 1988. He has been involved in wireless communications since the first PCS auctions in 1995. In addition, Greg brings years of experience in M&A, management buyouts, cross-border transactions, and business reorganizations for wireless, cable, telephone and broadcasting companies throughout North America that he accumulated while serving as an investment banker at Amsterdam Pacific Securities LLC, a boutique investment bank. Greg sits on the board of SunState Tower II. He is also a donor to environmental, health and educational causes. Greg is a current board member of the American River Conservancy and a past board member of the Cancer Support Community. Greg holds a B.S. in Agricultural & Managerial Economics from the University of California at Davis and an M.B.A. from Cornell University.
