Bio

Chuck Wiebe joined MVP Capital in 2019 as a Managing Director in MVP’s Telecom Group. His focus is on communications infrastructure companies to which he provides merger and acquisition, capital raising, and strategic advisory services. Joining MVP represents a nice homecoming. Chuck and the MVP managing partners have known each other for over twenty years, starting with rafting/kayaking trips on the Rogue River in Oregon and continuing through successful collaborations on co-banked telecom projects. Prior to joining MVP, Chuck co-founded BIA Capital Strategies, a communications-focused investment bank, and BIA Digital Partners, a mezzanine-focused fund that invested $338 million in 37 media, telecom, and information-based businesses. Prior to BIA, he was a Vice President with Mellon Bank providing acquisition finance services to technology companies in the Washington region. He also served in American Security Bank’s (now Bank of America) Workout Group, protecting the bank’s interest in problem loans, and in its Communications Industries lending group. Chuck received a BA with Distinction from Cornell University, majoring in Comparative Literature and Latin as a Cornell National Scholar. From 1976-1979, he played lacrosse at Cornell, including on its NCAA championship teams in 1976 and 1977. He currently serves as Chair of the Board of Trustees of Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland and is a member of the Johns Hopkins Medicine Board of Trustees.
