Bill Fanning is a Managing Director at MVP Capital and joined the firm in 2006. He is one of the heads of the Media group and also has experience and expertise in the company’s Telecom (specifically fiber) practice. Since 2012, the Media Group has successfully closed deals with a total transaction volume exceeding $650 million. Clients turn to Bill for his expertise – and his approach to people. “Our clients expect us to be experts in the various industry developments, value-drivers and trends and how all of those factors affect them and their companies specifically,” Bill said. “Regular and frequent communication is key to developing and maintaining those relationships – not just calls or emails but spending time with the client, particularly in their home market.” Bill also shared that one of MVP’s longest and best clients invites him to their company Christmas party each year. “I’ve developed relationships and friendships with many of the client’s employees, not just the executives that I interact with on deals or strategic decisions,” he said. “It has really made me feel like ‘one of the family’ for that specific client.” He was also featured in the most recent edition of Radio Ink Magazine and has been quoted in numerous other publications on the state of the Broadcast industry, including “The Deal,” RBR, Taylor on Radio, and DealReporter. Prior to MVP, Bill worked as an Associate in Bank of America’s (BofA) Global Corporate & Investment Bank, where he was involved in a $21 billion leveraged buyout. He has successfully passed all three levels of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) Program and earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 2006. He also received a B.S. in Finance, Magna Cum Laude, from Boston College.
