Michael Silverton is Group Head of Macquarie Capital. Michael leads a team of more than 1,800 staff providing advisory, capital markets, investing, development and equities capabilities to clients globally, with a focus on infrastructure and real assets; technology, software and services; and resources, energy and materials. In more than two decades at Macquarie Group, Michael has built and led businesses across the globe. Before becoming Group Head of Macquarie Capital in 2021 he served as Global Co-Head from 2019, and he was previously named Head of Macquarie Capital in the Americas in 2013, later adding oversight of Macquarie Capital in Europe and Asia. Michael joined Macquarie Capital in 2001 in roles in Sydney and London and in 2007 moved to the United States, where he is currently based. Before Macquarie Capital, he held roles in Macquarie Group’s Central Executive Strategy unit and Risk Management Division in Sydney, where he joined the firm in 1997.
