Peter is a founder and managing director at Inertia Advisors. Peter lead’s Inertia’s efforts in Financial Technology, Payments, Retail Tech, and adjacent areas. He has spent over 12 years as an investment banker in the middle-market technology sector and has an extensive network of industry contacts and venture capital relationships as well as deep domain knowledge across multiple technology sectors ranging from mobile, enterprise software, security software, and communications infrastructure. Prior to Inertia, Peter was at Mooreland Partners where he led the firm’s efforts in Financial Technology and was also a core part of the firm’s Communications Technology practice. During his 10 years at Mooreland he worked on over 50 client projects and and transactions, including: Metavante / Nomad Payments, ADP / OneClickHR, PrePay Technologies / Edenred, Nokia-Siemens Networks / Apertio, SAP / Wicom Software, and Parametric Technologies / MKS. Earlier in his career, Peter was at Level 3 Communications, where he held a variety of roles including Corporate Strategic Planning, CFO of a business unit, and product management functions. Peter was also instrumental in developing a robust M&A program which resulted in the acquisitions of Genuity, ICG, and the dial-up internet businesses of McLeod USA and Sprint. Peter also spent several years in the 1990’s with Credit Suisse group where he worked in Equity Research covering the specialty chemicals and fertilizer industries and assisting in the IPO of Omnova Solutions. Peter has a degree in finance from Georgetown University and earned a CFA designation in 2003.
