Irfan is a founder and managing director at Inertia Advisors. Irfan has been a technology investment banker and strategic advisor since the early 2000’s. He has worked as a senior banker at global growth focused technology investment banks and emerging merchant banks, and as a public company executive. He has substantial experience raising capital, providing M&A advisory services and corporate business development. His sector experience spans Internet, Software/ SaaS , Data and Media with over 40 completed transactions for companies across the growth lifecycle from early stage to mature public companies. His transaction experience includes 15+ private capital raises, 13 public financings as a lead and co-manager and 12+ M&A transactions. Irfan has sold companies to a variety of acquirers across the technology sector and has relationships with leading PE, growth equity and venture capital firms. Selected financial firms he has worked with include: ABS, Accel, Accel-KKR, Austin Ventures, Bain, Battery, BofA, Canaan, Francisco Partners, General Catalyst, Golden Gate Capital, Index, iNovia, Insight Ventures, IVP, Norwest, Redpoint, Rho, Riverside, Sequoia Capital, Spectrum Equity, SVB, TCV, Warburg, Wasatch. Selected strategic acquirers he has worked with on completed transactions include: Bankrate, DTS, DrillingInfo, Cisco, Alcatel- Lucent, Qualcomm, RIMM, Zillow. Prior to Inertia, Irfan was a Principal at Vaquero Capital and a Vice President at Pacific Crest Securities and Rutberg & Company. He also ran corporate development and FP&A at a company which he helped take public as part of the lead underwriting team, DTS Inc. He began his career as a financial analyst at SG Cowen. Irfan received a B.B.A. in Business Honors and Finance with a minor in MIS from the University of Texas at Austin and has been a Chartered Financial Analyst since 2005.
