Bio

James L. Freeman founded Freeman & Co. in 1991 to provide strategic advisory and management consulting to the financial services sector. He is also the Chief Executive Officer. Previously, Mr. Freeman had a distinguished 17-year career at CS First Boston, where he headed various groups, including Global Equities, Global Asset Management, Global Equity and Fixed Income Research and Global Sales. Mr. Freeman served as Chairman of the Investment Policy Committee and Portfolio Strategist. He was also a member of the Executive and Management Committees for 8 years. Freeman & Co.'s expertise is built upon its founder's diversified, hands on experience. Mr. Freeman is currently an adjunct professor at Columbia Business School in the Economics/Finance Department. He has co-authored several books on investment banking including the Investment Banking Handbook and wrote the introduction to the Presidential Task Force on Market Mechanisms (The Brady Commission Reports). Mr. Freeman received a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
