Matthew Cumbee joined FocalPoint’s Chicago office in 2019 bringing with him nearly a decade of experience covering investment banking, corporate restructuring, and distressed private equity. Mr. Cumbee has represented debtors, lenders, and sponsors in a wide array of industries and transactions, including distressed M&A, rescue financings or recapitalizations, amend and extend agreements, and Chapter 11 plans of reorganization and 363 sales. Prior to joining FocalPoint, Mr. Cumbee was a Director at SOLIC Capital Advisors (and its predecessor, Navigant Capital Advisors) where he represented companies and their stakeholders across a variety of industries in situations requiring creative and complex capital and operational solutions. Mr. Cumbee graduated from Brown University with a Bachelor of Arts in business economics. He is a FINRA Series 63 and 79 registered representative and holds an AIRA certification as a Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor. Mr. Cumbee received a Bachelor of Arts in business and economics from Brown University.
