Manfred Ernst joined Fieldstone in August 1990. Mr. Ernst has extensive experience in the origination and execution of energy and non-energy project finance transactions, both domestically and internationally. His experience includes privatizations; acquisitions and divestitures; arranging strategic joint ventures; and placements of private and public debt, mezzanine, and equity financings. He has represented governments, industrial companies, development companies, and regulated and non-regulated utilities. Mr. Ernst has also provided expert testimony before the California Energy Commission and is frequently invited to speak at conferences. Since joining Fieldstone, Mr. Ernst has worked on transactions that have exceeded $10 billion. Prior to joining Fieldstone, Mr. Ernst was employed for nine years by Bankers Trust Company, the last six years of which he worked in the lease and Project Finance Group after serving as relationship manager for multinational corporations in the World Corporate department. Mr. Ernst received his M.A. and Ph.D. in international relations from Tulane University and was an assistant professor at Georgetown University prior to joining Bankers Trust in 1981.
