Bio

Jason joined Fieldstone in 2003. He brought experience as a developer, utility executive and corporate/finance attorney Jason began his career as a public finance and infrastructure attorney in a major firm in the US and went on to act as an external project and finance counsel for the international operations of Southern Company in the early nineties. In this latter capacity, he worked on major acquisitions and privatizations in Europe, the Caribbean, South America and Asia. (During his career, he has led transactions in over 40 countries). Recruited by his client, Jason became a lead developer and was a principal architect of the 1.7 billion US $ acquisition of a controlling stake in Bewag, the Berlin integrated utility. Jason followed the project as CEO- Germany and was responsible for further development and acquisition as Head of Development for Europe, where he led the successful effort to develop CCGT generation. Following the successful sale of Bewag in 2002 (IRR >30%), Jason came to Fieldstone and initiated a Management Buy Out from a South African firm shortly after joining. As a banker, Jason has focused on cross border investment, sustainable generation and M & A work. He completed two major wind acquisitions in the mid 2000’s in Germany and Italy and advised on purchases by American and Asian investors in Europe. He joined in the final stages of negotiations with Mozambique in the Cahora Bassa transaction. Jason was recruited by African and European family offices as Chief Executive of a sugar ethanol company during a break from banking between 2008 and 2013. He assumed the role of Chief Executive of FCHL, primarily based in Africa, in 2015. Jason has a J.D. degree from Cornell University, an M.A. in classical philosophy from St. John’s (Annapolis) and a B.S.F.S. with distinction in his degree program from Georgetown School of Foreign Service.
