Wilco Faessen is a Senior Managing Director and Co-Head of the Global Consumer Retail Practice at Evercore. Prior to joining Evercore in July 2018, Mr. Faessen was a Managing Director in the Global Consumer Retail Group at Barclays. Over his more than 20 year career, he has advised clients on a number of notable transactions including Anadolu Efes on the merger of Anheuser Busch Inbev and AE’s breweries in Russia and the Ukraine, Anheuser Busch Inbev on the sale of SABMiller’s $12bn stake in MillerCoors, Asahi on the E$7.3bn acquisition of Anheuser Busch Inbev’s CEE breweries, Cott on the $1.25bn sale of Cott Beverages to Refresco, DS Waters on the $1.25bn sale to Cott, Grupo Bavaria on the $7.8bn sale to SABMiller, Happy Family on its sale to Danone, Heinz on a balance sheet restructuring from high yield to high grade in anticipation of the Kraft acquisition, Monster on the $4bn sale of a stake and a structured partnership with The Coca Cola Company, Pfizer Consumer Health on the acquisition of Ferrosan Consumer Health and SABMiller on the $12bn merger of Miller and Coors. Prior to spending the last 15 years at Barclays and Lehman Brothers, Mr. Faessen was a Vice President at Violy, Byorum & Partners, an independent M&A advisory boutique focused on Latin America. Mr. Faessen has a Masters Degree in Monetary Economics from Maastricht University in the Netherlands, and is a founder and board member of WhistlePig, a leading ultra-premium rye whiskey company.
