Bio

Scott Kamran is a Senior Managing Director in the firm’s Technology Corporate Advisory business and leads the Global Software practice. Scott was most recently a Managing Director and Head of Global Software Investment Banking at Merrill Lynch. With over 24 years of experience at Evercore and Merrill Lynch , Scott has extensive experience advising a broad range of software companies and private equity firms. He has been responsible for a wide array of software transactions in both the infrastructure and application sectors representing over $110 billion in value. Recent selected transactions include Checkmarx’s $1.15bn sale to Hellman & Freidman and TPG, Apax’s sale of Aptos to Goldman Sachs, Insight Partners’ sale of a stake in Kaseya to TPG, TPG’s acquisition of a stake in Collabnet and acquisition of XebiaLabs and Arxan, Palo Alto Network’s acquisition of Demisto, Vista Equity Partners’ acquisition of Quickbase, Sage’s $850mm acquisition of Intacct, Clearlake’s $1.3bn sale of Vision Solutions and Syncsort to Centerbridge Partners, the sale of Commercehub to GTCR for $1.1bn, the sale of Helpystems for $1.2bn to HGGC, Misys’ $6bn acquisition of DH, Insight Partners’ sale of SmartBear to Francisco Partners, HEAT Software’s acquisition of Landesk, Insight Partners sale of LogicNow for $500mm sale to SolarWinds, Clearlake’s $310mm acquisition of Syncsort, Digicert’s $700mm sale to Thoma Bravo, HIG Capital’s acquisition of HelpSystems, Metalogix’s sale to Permira, BeyondTrust’s $310mm sale to Veritas Capital, Nokia’s $3.1bn sale of HERE to the consortium of Audi, BMW and Daimler, Singtel’s $850mm acquisition of Trustwave, Blackbaud’s $160mm acquisition of MicroEdge and Sumtotal’s sale to Skillsoft. Prior to his investment banking career, Scott served on active duty in the United States Navy. Scott has an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a B.S. in Finance and Economics from George Washington University.
