Bio

Joe Chambers, based in London, is Chief Operating Officer of Evercore’s European Advisory business and a Senior Managing Director in its European financial institutions group. Prior to joining Evercore, Mr. Chambers was a Partner and Managing Director at Lexicon Partners, the corporate finance advisory business which was acquired by Evercore in 2011. He spent his early career at DLJ International, NatWest Markets and Ernst & Young. Mr. Chambers has over 20 years of experience in advising financial institutions on M&A and corporate finance. Some of his transactions include advising on the sale by Schroders of its shareholding in RWC; the acquisition of OMGI by TA Associates; the sale by TA Associates of Merian to Jupiter; the sale by Evercore of ETC to Newport; the sale by Phoenix of Ignis to Standard Life; the MBO and subsequent IPO of Jupiter; the sale by HVB of F&C to Eureko; and the sale by Eureko of F&C to ISIS. He has also advised on a number of more specialist asset management transactions including the sale of Nephila to Markel; the sale of a minority stake in Roundhill Capital to Dyal; the sale of a majority stake in Longview to Northill; the sale of a majority stake in Veritas to AMG; the sale of minority stakes in Nephila to Man Group and KKR; the sale by Alchemy of Alcentra to BONY; and the acquisition of Thames River Capital by F&C. Wealth management transactions on which he has advised include the acquisition by Bridgepoint of Quilter & Co from Morgan Stanley; the sale by Jupiter of its private client business to Rathbones; the sale by Newton of its private client business to Standard Life; the sale by Bridgepoint of Quilter Cheviot to Old Mutual Wealth; and Lloyds Bank’s wealth joint venture with Schroders. Mr. Chambers has a degree in management science from UMIST. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales and a Trustee of Tommy’s.
