Matthew Johnson is a Managing Partner at Drake Star Partners, bringing over twenty years of investment banking and executive operational experience to the Drake Star team. Matthew worked previously in investment banking as a Managing Partner of Gemini Partners, an investment bank he co-founded, and before that at Prudential Securities and Credit Suisse First Boston as a Vice President in corporate finance, M&A and high yield in New York. He completed over fifty transactions with a total economic value in excess of $10 billion including many cross-border transactions, in particular in Latin America. Matthew was a Co-Founder and Chairman of a Los Angeles-based healthcare software company that he helped grow from start-up to profitability and successfully exited to a multi-billion-dollar public company. He is also a board member of several companies funded through Drake Star Partners, and is a member of the Young Presidents Organization (“YPO”). Matthew holds an M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University and his B.A. from Bucknell University.
