Bio

Ken Marlin is Vice Chairman of D.A. Davidson’s Technology Investment Banking practice. For nearly 20 years prior to joining D.A. Davidson, Ken led the boutique investment bank he founded — Marlin & Associates Securities LLC, the advisor of choice in the financial technology and data analytics industry worldwide. Before starting his investment bank, Ken was leader of a New York-based merchant bank/private equity firm, an entrepreneur, a tech company CEO (three times), and a senior corporate executive. He is the author of a book based on his application of principles that he learned while serving on active duty as an infantry officer in the U.S. Marine Corps, “The Marine Corps Way to Win on Wall Street: 11 Key Principles from Battlefield to Boardroom” (St. Martin’s Press 2016). Ken earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of California (Irvine), an MBA from UCLA, and a post-MBA Advanced Professional Certificate in Corporate Strategy from New York University. Twice he has been named one of Institutional Investor’s “Tech 50,” the 50 most influential people in technology, and twice more named one of the 35 most influential people in financial technology. He is a member of the Market Data Hall of Fame. He has appeared in publications ranging from Businessweek, Forbes and CEO Magazine to The Wall Street Journal, and featured on CBS News, Fox Business, CNBC and Canada’s Business News Network. Ken is a Trustee of the Madison Square Boys and Girls Club in New York, a member of the Business Administration Board of Advisors of the University of the People, and an active supporter of the Wall Street Warriors Foundation, Marine Corps Heritage Foundation, Phoenix House, Outward Bound Peacekeeping and the BJ/SPSA Homeless Shelter.
