Bio

Dan Wilhelm is an experienced executive and operating advisor in media, technology, business services and consumer products. He leads successful investor and management initiatives and advises a diverse group of company owners, private equity firms and family offices. Previously, he served as Executive Vice President for NEP Inc., managing business development for the $1B global television production and engineering firm. He led 3 acquisitions, expanded international operations and integrated processes across NEP’s business units. The business was sold from a partnership of APAX Partners and Spectrum Equity Investors to American Securities Capital Partners. Today, it is part of the Carlyle Group. Prior to that, he served as President of Primedia’s Digital Video unit for KKR. He led the team that created and launched digital products based on Primedia’s Motor Trend, Surfer, Equus, Power & Motoryacht and Channel One properties. In addition he managed the company’s production and distribution center, housing digital networks for the healthcare, government, and financial services sectors. Dan served as Executive Vice President of Lighthouse Global Network, a joint venture of GTCR, Frontenac and Lake Capital. From inception he helped build a portfolio of 17 diversified companies in marketing services, business communications and design. He identified target companies and completed 5 acquisitions, managed early-stage integration and led the merger of the separate portfolio companies into one operating unit. Lighthouse Global Network was sold and today is part of WPP. A noted network builder, Dan played a leadership role in the creation and growth of FOX Sports Net, where he served as Senior Vice President of Business Development for FOX/Liberty Networks. Mr. Wilhelm developed and managed agreements, joint ventures and strategic alliances with dozens of media and telecom companies, teams and organizations including the USOC, ATP, PGA, PAC 12, Big 12, Turner, Anheuser-Busch and Comcast. He was named the first General Manager of Prime Network in 1990, then a new partnership formed by TCI, Group W and Bill Daniels. When Liberty Media entered into a partnership with Rainbow Media Holdings and NBC, he was promoted to Vice President of Programming and Network Development. Liberty Media’s Sports Group was then merged into a unit of Fox. Today, it is part of Sinclair Broadcasting.
