Bio

Michael Mara joined Boenning & Scattergood as President in July of 2018. Michael is an accomplished senior executive with over 30 years of experience in the brokerage, wealth, investment management, capital markets, private banking, and trust business. His range of experience spans from senior executive positions in large financial services companies to small entrepreneurial endeavors. Prior to joining Boenning & Scattergood, Michael served in executive leadership positions at Wells Fargo The Private Bank, Valley Forge Capital Advisors, Q Prime (an institutional broker-dealer and research firm), Penn Street Fund, Vanguard Group, Millennium Bank, and Merrill Lynch. Michael also served as Sub-Advisor/Portfolio Manager to MFS. The Penn Street Fund and the MFS Sector Rotational Fund received numerous citations in The Wall Street Journal as “Category King” and a 5-star status from Morningstar. Michael also served as Lead Independent Trustee at the Quaker Investment Trust. Michael is a military veteran, having served in the U.S. Army’s Intelligence and Security Command with assignments to NSA and DIA. He has earned degrees from the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center as well as The U.S. Air Force School of Applied Cryptologic Sciences. Michael holds a Corporate Governance Certificate from Stanford Law School, a Bachelor of Arts degree from Emerson College, and a Master of Business Administration degree from American University. He is currently a member of the Board of Trustees of Emerson College, The American Legion, and the Association of Former Intelligence Officers. Michael holds the FINRA Series 7 and 24 licenses.
