As a partner in blumshapiro’s Construction Industry Group, Fred has over 30 years of experience providing audit and advisory services to a wide variety of clients including higher educational institutions, municipalities, general and trade contractors, and state agencies. Fred provides expert testimony and has issued expert reports for submission to the American Arbitration Association and various other proceedings. Fred dedicates a significant amount of his time to the State of Connecticut Department of Transportation, for which he provides claims analysis of major construction projects. He has provided similar services to the State of Connecticut Department of Construction Services, Southern Connecticut State University, Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority, Stamford Hospital, the City of New York Law Department and other private owners. Fred is the firm’s Managing Partner of Assurance and has the overall responsibility for achieving goals and growth plans for our audit department. Over the next few years, Fred will work closely with his colleague Tom Dearnley to transition this role to him. As a member of our Women Who Lead Social Network, which includes a wide range of senior-level blum personnel, Fred actively helps to clear advancement barriers for women through guidance, coaching and advocacy—as well as offering honest feedback and advice to all blum employees about how to support the women they work with.
