Bio

Philip Bowkley is Managing Director and Head of International Corporate Banking (ICB), he has responsibility for the Corporate Banking client franchise for International Corporate clients, Financial Institutions clients and the international Corporate Bank teams across the UK, Europe, APAC, Middle East and the Americas. The ICB team is closely coordinated with colleagues in the Investment Bank, Barclaycard and Private Bank to ensure that our clients are managed in a seamless way cross the Barclays Group. Previously Philip was Global Head of Financial Institutions Group (FIG), for Barclays International Corporate Bank. The FIG business provides transactional and Corporate Banking services to Banks, Broker Dealers, Funds and Asset Managers, Fintech Payments and Alternative Finance companies. He has a wealth of FIG experience having set up and led several of the sector teams across FI and NBFI. Philip joined Barclays in 2002 and prior to working in International Banking he was Head of Strategy and Transformation for Business Banking in the UK and also spent two years running a large scale transformation programme in Barclays Africa. He started his career as a Graduate at Unilever and then spent several years working as a consultant at PwC and CapGemini. Outside of Barclays Philip is a Trustee for Family Action, a UK based charity providing a broad range of support services to families across the UK experiencing disadvantage and social isolation. He is married and father to two teenage boys and enjoys travelling, skiing and cycling. Philip holds a BEng Hons in Manufacturing Engineering from the University of Nottingham and Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from Henley Management College.
