Bio

Michael is active in AMA’s advisory and principal investing activities, serving as President of AMA Securities LLC, a registered broker-dealer. Recent assignments include advising Wawa on the construction and financing of a new 185k bbl, U.S. Flag ATB and advising GATX on the restructuring of their five gas carrying vessels. He led sell-side advisory assignments for Saltchuck’s South American barge business and Goldman Sachs’ sale of locomotive tax leases. He is a director of RailSolutions Inc. and a former director of PLM Financial Services. Michael led AMA’s acquisition of RGCX, a railcar leasing company, and served as CEO of the company from 2013 until its sale by AMA in 2018. Michael also leads AMA’s fairness opinion practice, which has included assignments for KNOP, Ultrapetrol, Hoegh and Pasha. He started his career at The First National Bank of Maryland, where he worked in the bank’s maritime division, developed a specialized rail lending and leasing department and later managed the bank’s Latin American portfolio. Michael was an Administrative Vice President at M&T Bank, where he led the large ticket origination and syndication practices of the Equipment Finance Group. Michael received an MBA from the University of Chicago, a MS from The Johns Hopkins University and a BBA from Loyola University in Maryland.
