Hong Kim is a partner at Yulchon who practices primarily in the areas of Corporate Governance, Mergers & Acquisition, Health & Pharmaceutical, Environment & Energy, Private Equity & Venture Capital and Asset Management & Funds.Mr. Kim earned his LL.B. and completed a master’s degree course work (Environment Law) from the College of Law, Seoul National University and completed his legal training at the Judicial Research Institute of the Supreme Court of Korea in 2005. After serving as a Judge Advocate Officer for the Korean Army, he worked at Shin & Kim for eight years as an associate and a partner in the Corporate Team. Thereafter, Mr. Kim earned an LL.M. from University of California, Berkeley in 2013 during which he specialized in renewable energy area and received Certificate of Specialization in Energy and Clean Technology Law. In addition to his experience in Korea, Mr. Kim served as an Overseas Qualified Lawyer at Reed Smith LLP, Sillicon Valley office, US for 9 months where he provided sound legal advice to both US companies on Korean legal issues and Korean companies on establishment of branches and subsidiaries in the US as well as corporate spin-offs.
