Mike's experience includes merger and acquisition and contract drafting and review for companies in high-tech and other industries. He files and prosecutes state and federal trademark applications and copyright applications. In that role, he has represented clients in administrative proceedings in federal and state court as well as before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He serves numerous nonprofit organizations including Renovation Alliance, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southwest Virginia, and Total Action for Progress. Mike is regularly ranked as a go-to attorney for Intellectual Property matters by Virginia Super Lawyers and Best Lawyers as well as Virginia Business magazine’s Legal Elite list. Mike earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and his law degree from Wake Forest University. While in law school, Mike served as an editor of the Wake Forest Law Review.
