Head of the Restructuring, Insolvency & Distressed Investments team of Wolf Theiss in Poland, Lech Gilicinski acts as the CEE Coordinator for restructuring, insolvency and distressed investments. He brings to clients over 27 years of professional experience, focusing on operational and financial turnarounds, distressed asset sales and private equity. Lech was a legal adviser to the Minister of Justice and EBRD throughout the process of implementing the Polish Bankruptcy and Rehabilitation Law of 2003. He is also the World Bank’s country partner in Poland in the areas of insolvency and restructuring and served as the main consultant for the World Bank in connection with the preparation of the report “Poland: Towards a Stronger Insolvency Framework”, produced for the Polish government upon commencement of the works on the draft restructuring law and amendments of the insolvency and restructuring law. Lech is the President of the Restructuring Practitioners Association, and a member of Insol Europe and Insol International. He has been consistently listed by major legal directories as one of the leading restructuring and insolvency lawyers in Poland for many years. Prior to joining Wolf Theiss, Lech was a partner at prominent international law firms.
