Alexis Cohen advises clients on complex intellectual property matters, with a focus on patent litigation, post-grant proceedings, patent prosecution, counseling and due diligence for corporate transactions. Ms. Cohen focuses her practice on the medical device and life sciences industries, and has worked with clients across a broad range of other fields, including software, telecommunications, technology, and materials science. She has represented clients before US District Courts, the Federal Circuit, state courts, arbitration tribunals, and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB). Ms. Cohen provides strategic advice to clients of various sizes, from start-ups to Fortune 100 corporations, to help build patent portfolios, defend against patent-related risks, craft litigation strategy and analyze business decisions. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Cohen served as a law clerk for the Honorable Ursula Ungaro of the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida. She previously worked as a litigation associate at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP in New York City, where she focused on patent litigation. While achieving her undergraduate degree, Ms. Cohen worked at Drexel University’s Implant Research Center where she researched orthopedic implants for different joints.
