Partner
and access,
Yann Payen specialises in corporate law and has over a decade of experience in advising clients on group restructurings, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, bond issues, and private equity markets transactions, acting as either the investor’s or the seller’s representative. His proven record and skills led him to be closely involved in the recent development of the Luxembourg legal framework, including coordinating the creation of the Luxembourg Company Code, published by Legitech, and being appointed in 2018 as the editor-in-chief of Legitech’s Business Law Practice Review. His knowledge of Luxembourg company law has earned him several recognitions, and his hands-on expertise is reflected in his resolutely practice-oriented approach that combines pragmatic thinking and a thorough understanding of the key commercial challenges clients face in an ever-evolving market. Yann also leads the Wildgen 4 Innovation initiative, a legal hub providing start-ups and scale-ups with the legal foundations they need to support them in their growth. Since 2009, Yann has been specialising in compliance, and he passed the certification granted by the Luxembourg Institute for Training in Banking (IFBL) in December 2010 and is an active member of the Association Luxembourgeoise des Compliance Officers (ALCO). Yann holds a postgraduate degree (DEA) in international economic law (University of Paris I Sorbonne – France) and a postgraduate degree (DESS) in international business law (University of Paris I Sorbonne – France). He has been a member of the Luxembourg Bar since 2009.
