Bio

Widely recognized as one of Slovakia's leading lawyers, Juraj Fuska has extensive experience advising on mergers and acquisitions, corporate matters, employment, greenfield investments, securities and insurance. His track record and reputation have attracted a client portfolio of major domestic and international corporates including Allianz AG, a major German insurance company, RWE Gas, a leading German utilities provider, and NAY Holding, a large consumer electronics retail chain in Slovakia. Since joining White & Case in 2000, Juraj has worked on numerous major M&A projects, and has significant experience in greenfield investments for clients such as PSA Peugeot Citroen, as well as Visteon Corporation, a global automotive company, and Johnson Controls, a US-based multinational producer of automotive interiors and batteries. The Slovak Republic has sought out Juraj's knowledge and insight regarding a number of matters, including the issue of two series of Samurai bonds in 2013, and the privatizations of Transpetrol, Všeobecná úverová banka and Slovenská sporiteľňa. Juraj also acts as one of the managing lawyers in the Bratislava office's corporate practice, which, according to Chambers Europe 2014, has attracted "some of the most eye-catching transactions in the market with strong experience in a wide range of areas, from cross-border deals to privatisations." Among others, Mr. Fuska´s scope of extensive experience also encompasses impressive performance history of involvement in many of the largest and most prominent infrastructure PPP projects. With respect to PPP projects, Juraj experience includes representation of the consortium consisting of Bouygues, Colas, Doprastav, Váhostav, Intertoll and Mota-Engil in the first-ever PPP program arranged by the Slovak Republic regarding the financing, design, construction, operation and maintenance of the D1 motorway under an availability fee-based concession structure and also Skanska on the construction consortium with Granvia regarding the construction of elements of road infrastructure within a PPP project in Slovakia. He is also a member of White & Case's Global Employment & Benefits team. He is widely recognized among peers as a leading employment lawyer. Among others, he has been described as a "brilliant, solution-oriented" employment practitioner, who is respected for his employment legal prowess. He is particularly familiar with the employment issues that arise in corporate transactions, such as management buyouts, sales of shares and business interests, asset deals, restructuring of companies in post-merger or post-acquisition situations, and outsourcing. He advises on individual and collective dismissals, outsourcing, including cross-border mandates, immigration law in connection with the cross-border secondment of employees as well as local hiring matters.
