Matt is a ranked individual in Legal 500 2017 in IT & Telecoms and is ranked as Band 1 in Chambers Guide 2017. Matt advises numerous large UK corporations on a variety of technology matters, with such clients including Universal Music, Marks & Spencer, Electricity North West, Mitchells & Butlers and the RAC. He specialises in technology contracts, particularly business critical outsourcings, cloud and network arrangements. He also assists clients with big data and data services initiatives and is one of the few UK lawyers to have extensive specialist experience in projects relating to electricity innovation and low carbon matters. Matt has over 10 years’ experience in non-contentious technology matters having specialised in technology law since he was in-house legal adviser to the New Zealand Data Protection Commissioner in 2005. He qualified as a solicitor in New Zealand in 2003 and has worked at other leading UK firms since 2007. He is qualified both in the UK and New Zealand as a solicitor.
