Roland Hutchins is a partner in Weightmans' corporate team. Based at the Liverpool office, Roland has over 20 years’ experience in dealing with mergers, acquisitions and disposals; corporate finance; private equity investment and joint ventures. Roland has particular expertise in advising clients on non-transactional corporate and company law matters including group structures; corporate governance; share structures and reorganisations. Roland has also accumulated considerable experience advising mid-tier corporates, working closely alongside general counsels and assuming a role of trusted adviser in respect of corporate governance and structure in addition to advising on commercial contracts including supply of goods and services, agency and distribution, terms of trade and intellectual property licensing. Roland’s diversity of skills and respected judgement has seen him appointed to the role of in-house legal counsel for Weightmans from May 2021. Prior to taking on the legal counsel role, Roland was responsible for the operational management of the corporate team nationally across London, Birmingham, Liverpool, Manchester, and Leeds. In addition to his role as in-house legal counsel, Roland continues to provide legal advice to some select clients of the firm comprising owner-managed businesses and mid-tier corporates operating in the manufacturing, logistics and retail sectors.
