Selwyn is an expert in general and commercial litigation and has served as an acting judge in the Cape Town High Court. Selwyn assesses commercial and reputational risks and devises optimal tactics in presenting clients' cases. He has extensive experience in commercial and administrative and constitutional law and has been involved in a number of high profile and complex matters, both in the superior courts as well as alternative dispute resolution forums. He has extensive experience in mediations and commercial arbitrations. His practice covers a wide range of disputes, including the areas of contracts, joint ventures and regulatory matters. He also has experience in all forms of urgent interdictory relief and judicial reviews. He has also held a number of leadership posts in the National Association of Democratic Lawyers (NADEL), including serving as the national vice president from 2003 to 2005, as the Western Cape deputy chairperson from 2001 to 2004 and as the chairperson from 2004 until 2009. In 2009, Selwyn was elected to serve as a board member of Accelerate Cape Town. Selwyn was the Managing Partner of the Cape Town office of Webber Wentzel from 2009 until 2012.
