Bio

Candice is a specialist in cross-border transactions with particular expertise in the oil and gas sector. She provides clients with traditional legal representation in the form of contract negotiation, drafting, deal structuring and transactional advice. She also provides legal and commercial support in connection with acquisitions and divestments; joint venture arrangements; due diligence investigations; and exploration, development and production operations. She has assisted clients in South Africa, but also with deals across the African continent. She has been involved in litigation and arbitration proceedings in various jurisdictions including South Africa, the Southern District of Texas Houston Division, Nigeria and the UK. Prior to joining Webber Wentzel, Candice served as senior in-house counsel for the national oil company of South Africa, PetroSA. Prior to joining PetroSA, she also practiced as a maritime attorney, specialising in marine insurance matters.
