Thomas Anderson is a Partner in the firm’s corporate group. Tom specializes in corporate and business law for emerging growth companies, venture capitalists and angel investors in the technology, life sciences and clean tech sectors. Tom’s practice includes general business law counseling to entrepreneurs and investors, equity and debt financings, mergers and acquisitions, and he is skilled in modeling complex capital structures, financing scenarios and liquidity events. Tom strives to blend his legal skills with his prior management and leadership experience to provide his clients with quality legal services focused on their business objectives. Tom received his J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center where he graduated cum laude and served as Editor in Chief of the Georgetown Journal of Law and Public Policy. Tom began his legal career in the Silicon Valley office of Morrison & Foerster LLP, one of the nation’s premier business law firms. Tom also earned an M.S. in National Resource Strategy from the National Defense University, an M.S. in Administration from Central Michigan University and a B.A. in Political Science from La Salle University. Prior to attending law school, Tom served as a logistics officer in the U.S. Army. During his tenure in the U.S. Army, he attained the rank of Colonel, commanded a battalion of the 82nd Airborne Division in Afghanistan, and earned two Bronze Star Medals. Given the confluence of his start-up legal skills and his military experience, Tom sits on the Board of Directors of VetsInTech, a Bay Area-based non-profit that seeks to integrate America’s military veterans into technologies industries, and he is proud to give back.
