Cathy Caputo represents a broad range of privately held businesses and entrepreneurs. She advises clients in private equity and debt financings, mergers and acquisitions, commercial agreements, and employment/consulting relationships. She also counsels clients on day-to-day corporate governance matters. Cathy graduated from the University of San Francisco School of Law (J.D., magna cum laude), where she was an editor of the Law Review. She received a B.A., with honors, from San Francisco State University. Cathy started her legal career as a law clerk on the Civil Central Staff of the California Supreme Court. She then worked as a corporate and securities associate at Bay Venture Counsel, which later combined with Reed Smith LLP. She has contributed to and edited several titles at Nolo Press—the nation's premier publisher of legal and business self-help books and software—and has provided business consulting services to small businesses throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.
