Robert Boekhorst has been working as a lawyer and partner at Van Benthem & Keulen in the Information Technology and Privacy practice groups, which he manages, since June 2014. Following his studies, Robert worked as an inhouse counsel at Koninklijke KPN NV, to become an IT lawyer at Stibbe after 6 years. From 2008 to 2014 Robert was a partner and head of the ICT & Communications practice group at Baker & McKenzie. Robert is an all-round ICT & Privacy lawyer. He has extensive experience in the entire range of ICT practice and special experience with sourcing projects, including outsourcing (of IT or business processes), cloud computing, off-shoring (of software development, for example) and wholesale communication services. Robert is involved in tender documentation, tender processes and tender strategy and provides support by conducting negotiations and drawing up the contracts. Robert has extensive experience on both the customer side and the provider side. The experience with sourcing includes the tendering of complex IT projects that fall within the scope of the Procurement Act. In recent years, privacy law has become an increasingly important part of IT practice. Privacy issues include the legitimacy of processing, international data transfers and general compliance projects for multinational companies.
