Irantzu Irastorza Bio

Irantzu Irastorza is head partner of the Bilbao office. She first joined the firm in 1999 and returned in 2019 after a ten-year stint as Deputy Director of the Legal Department and Chairperson’s Office at Kutxabank S.A. (previously BBK). In 2003 she was seconded to the US firm Debevoise & Plimpton (New York). Irantzu rejoined Uría Menéndez in 2019 as the partner in charge of the corporate and commercial practice of the Bilbao office. She specialises in commercial, corporate and financial law, having participated in numerous business acquisitions, corporate restructurings and financing transactions. She also has extensive experience in banking regulation.
