and access,
As the director of litigation support and eDiscovery, Julia Voss helps clients navigate the ever-changing landscape of eDiscovery. She understands the importance of appropriately handling electronically stored information and using technology to add value to a document review. Julia oversees a team of eDiscovery counsel, litigation support personnel, and the firm’s vendor relationships to ensure clients have access to both legal expertise and technology that will enable the case team to focus on what is important – the facts and strategy of each case. She consults with other attorneys and clients regarding the preservation of electronically stored information (ESI), discovery protocols, defensible document collection, and streamlined and accurate reviews and production. She also advises clients on document retention policies and legal hold procedures. Julia has given numerous seminars on eDiscovery to clients, lawyers, judges, law students, and litigation support professionals and kept other firm attorneys up to date on changes in the law. She is also a Certified Relativity Review Management Specialist. Julia’s involvement with eDiscovery began more than 15 years ago when she defended an antitrust case for a client in the oil industry. The case involved millions of documents with document custodians in international locations. Through that case, Julia developed a passion for guiding clients and colleagues through complicated eDiscovery issues. In addition to advising clients and collaborating with firm attorneys, Julia is a certified neutral with the Eastern District of Missouri and is qualified to serve as a mediator or early neutral evaluator for eDiscovery disputes or other litigation matters. Julia also serves as a volunteer mediator for the EEOC. In her life before eDiscovery, Julia’s work included trusts and estates litigation and defending actions involving consumer fraud, contract and pricing disputes, Robinson-Patman Act claims, claims related to state motor fuel statutes and franchise and PMPA issues. In addition, she oversaw a program to help refiners recover money owed by customers for unpaid fuel invoices and unamortized incentive funds.
