Kevin Petrasic advises domestic and international financial institutions on a wide range of regulatory, compliance, and policy issues, including the risks associated with leading-edge technologies. He draws on decades of client work, as well as senior positions with the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Thrift Supervision and the House Banking Committee, to provide the precise guidance his clients need to achieve their objectives while navigating complex and ever-shifting regulatory requirements. Kevin is well-versed across the regulatory landscape that impacts financial institutions throughout their business cycle, including the regulatory application processes of the federal banking agencies and various state bank regulators. He counsels banks on traditional and nontraditional bank charters; fintech, regtech, and artificial intelligence solutions; bank/thrift and holding company regulations; insolvency and restructuring of troubled or failing banks; corporate governance; and board of director advisory services. Kevin also advises international banks on their entry into the U.S. market, including banking agency application processes, the risks related to OFAC sanctions, BSA/AML compliance, cross-border Dodd-Frank matters, among other issues. Additionally, Kevin has significant experience advising banks on supervisory and enforcement matters, including banking agency actions involving core bank regulatory issues, consumer finance, including areas such as credit card and payment systems, online banking, cybersecurity, depository institution powers, and more.
