Catharina Von Finckenhagen is a fund finance expert practicing as a Cayman Islands attorney and Luxembourg advocate. She has extensive industry experience and provides both combined and standalone Luxembourg law and Cayman Islands law advice from a US time zone. Catharina advises major US and foreign banks and other financial institutions in structuring subscription credit facilities, hybrid facilities and other secured and unsecured lending arrangements, management fee lines, GP lines, co-invest loans and other fund finance products from a Cayman Islands law or Luxembourg law perspective. Catharina has been involved in many complex syndicated and bilateral credit facilities to funds. Prior to joining us as a partner in the Fund Finance group, Catharina worked as a corporate finance and investment funds attorney at Norton Rose Fulbright in London, Hong Kong and Bahrain, specialising in various open and closed-ended fund formations, including Shariah compliant structures, international private equity, public and private mergers and acquisitions, restructurings and regulatory work. Catharina joined Maples and Calder as an associate in Singapore before moving to the Cayman Islands in 2015. Catharina is recommended by Chambers Global 2021, Chambers Global 2022 and Chambers Global 2023 as a leading banking & finance attorney. She is also recognized by IFLR 1000 as a rising star, and received a rising star award by the Fund Finance Association in 2020. Catharina is fluent in English, French, Italian, Norwegian, Swedish and Spanish.
