Hunter Forman is a partner in our Corporate/Commercial, Private Equity and Cannabis Law Groups, where he skilfully guides and counsels his clients on a wide range of matters in all three sectors. Having built a practice that encompasses all areas of corporate law, Hunter possesses strong, established local and regional knowledge, which allows him to grasp concepts to successfully lead clients through mergers, acquisitions and dispositions of businesses, debt and equity financings, venture capital investments, private equity sponsored transactions, corporate governance mandates, and reorganizations. His keen business acumen, coupled with a deep and sound understanding of the intricacies of his clients’ industries, make Hunter a tremendous asset in his day-to-day transactions with clients. He is a pragmatic and strategic big picture thinker, and focuses on common sense solutions, which he believes yields optimal results most efficiently. Hunter brings his versatile skillset to provide business and regulatory advice to a wide range of cannabis industry stakeholders, including licensed producers, licensed retailers, ancillary service providers, and debt and equity financing sources. His expertise in this multifaceted sector includes acquisitions and dispositions, corporate governance, raising capital and debt, public listings, joint ventures, a wide range of commercial contracts and navigating the complex regulatory framework, including working with Health Canada and the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario. He has an acute attention to detail and is steadfastly committed to staying up-to-date on all regulations in this continually-evolving industry.
