With a multifaceted legal practice, Zachary Klutz is a member of Taft’s business and public finance practice groups. As a corporate and transactional attorney, Zach’s nearly 20-year legal practice focuses on mergers, acquisitions, and corporate transaction matters. His mergers and acquisitions experience includes representing public and private companies in negotiated acquisitions, spin-offs, and divestitures over various industries. In addition, Zach regularly serves as general outside corporate counsel to public and private companies of all sizes to advise on complex commercial transactions, as well as corporate governance matters. In the public and municipal sector, Zach is a nationally recognized bond attorney who regularly serves as bond counsel to counties, cities, towns, and other municipal and governmental units in connection with their issuance of tax-exempt and taxable bond financings issued to fund water, sewer, road, public safety, and other municipal capital projects. Prior to joining the legal profession, Zach worked on various local, state, and federal political campaigns, as well as a congressional aide to Indiana’s 3rd District United States Congressman (R). Appointed in 2014 by then-Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, and reappointed in 2018 by Gov. Eric Holcomb, Zach served as a Republican Commissioner to the four-member Indiana Election Commission from 2014 through 2021. Zach’s wife, Tera K. Klutz, CPA, served as Auditor of State to the State of Indiana from 2017 to 2023.
