Heleen Kersten Bio

Heleen acts for leading domestic and international clients, both listed and private. She specialises in advising on complex private M&A transactions and public takeovers of listed companies. She has extensive experience in advising both targets and bidders in both friendly and hostile takeovers. She also advised on the public offers for Akzo Nobel, PostNL, Super de Boer, Wavin, TeleAtlas, Kempen, Endemol, Grolsch, Ballast Nedam and Axa Stenman Industries. Heleen and Valérie van ‘t Lam are co-chairs of the Stibbe ESG & Sustainability focus group, a cross-practice team bringing together Stibbe's experts in order to provide clients with guidance and advice on all legal aspects of ESG and sustainability matters. From 2008 to 2013, Heleen held the position of Managing Partner in Amsterdam while remaining active in her areas of expertise. She also practiced with Davis Polk in New York. Heleen holds a master's degree in Dutch law and a master's degree in tax law, both from the University of Leiden. She has published articles on mergers and acquisitions and corporate governance.
