Fons Leijten specialises in corporate litigation and advice, creating close partnerships with his clients in every case. He is often engaged in matters before the Enterprise Chamber of the Amsterdam Court of Appeal and as counsel in international commercial arbitration and litigation. As a litigator and corporate law advisor his focus areas include issues and disputes relating to corporate governance, corporate restructuring, public tender offers, related party transactions, mergers and acquisitions and directors’ liability. Fons has a master in law from Amsterdam University and an LL.M from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). Fons is the chairperson of the corporate law advisory committee of the Dutch Bar Association and the Royal Association of Dutch Civil Law Notaries. He sits on the advisory board of the Dutch Journal for Company Law (JOR) and is editor of the Legal Commentary on Dutch Company Legislation.
