Hampton Rose helps real estate and energy clients navigate through complex commercial transactions. He leads Steptoe & Johnson’s Real Estate Practice Group that includes over 40 Steptoe & Johnson attorneys and professionals. For several years, Hampton served as Chair of the West Virginia Bar Association Real Estate Division, the preeminent group of real estate attorneys in the Mountain State. Hampton is a licensed title insurance agent with several title insurance companies, issuing millions of dollars in lender and owner policies annually. Beyond real estate, Hampton represents lenders, buyers and sellers in asset and equity acquisitions and divestitures. He also regularly issues building block, West Virginia law, and enforceability opinions. Hampton also frequently manages due diligence in transactions. He is also a registered government relations lobbyist, effectively assisting clients in drafting and advocating for and against proposed legislation and regulations. Prior to law school, Hampton played football for the West Virginia Mountaineers and worked as a miner in the West Virginia coal fields. Outside of work, Hampton enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons.
