Matt Ireland is a highly experienced corporate and commercial lawyer. Matt has extensive experience advising clients on public company takeovers and schemes of arrangement, private M&A transactions, capital raisings (including IPOs, backdoor listings, rights issues and other secondary raisings) and spin-outs and demergers. His other areas of practice include preparation of material for shareholders meetings, due diligence investigations and corporate governance and compliance matters. Matt also has experience in mining and resources transactions including joint venture agreements and acquisitions and disposals of mining assets. Matt commenced with Steinepreis Paganin as a Senior Associate in February 2018, and prior to that had over 10 years’ experience in the M&A/Capital Markets team of a major national law firm in Sydney and Perth. Matt graduated from Murdoch University with a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce in 2002 and was admitted to the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 2003 and the Supreme Court of Western Australia in 2004. Matt was appointed as a Partner of the firm on 1 July 2021.
