Richard Riley joined Slater Heelis in 2011 and became a Partner in 2023. He is experienced in commercial matters including drafting and reviewing business-to-business and business-to-consumer contracts (including standard terms and conditions), legal issues relating to online businesses, protection and exploitation of intellectual property rights, IT agreements (including software/app development agreements, Software as a Service contracts, End User Licences), franchise agreements and has experience of dealing with the Information Commissioners Office in respect of GDPR/Data Protection Act and Freedom of Information Act issues. He advises on corporate matters including business sales and purchases, mergers and acquisitions, disposals, management buyouts and group reorganisations. He also advises clients on corporate governance matters including issues including drafting and advising on Articles of Association and Shareholders Agreements. Richard has acted for a number of schools converting to Academies and Multi-Academies and has advised existing Academy trusts in respect of their sponsorship of additional schools and the opening of free schools.
