Fabian Von Samson-Himmelstjerna is a partner in our corporate practice, specializing in private equity matters, with an emphasis on cross-border transactions in the technology M&A space. Fabian represents German and international funds and financial investors, financial institutions, corporate entities and members of management, in particular on acquisitions and divestitures, private equity and growth investments, joint ventures, carve-outs and portfolio transactions. He has specific industry expertise in the technology, banking and financial services, healthcare/life sciences, engineering and automotive as well as in the energy sector. Fabian von Samson studied law at the universities of Bonn and Berlin before obtaining a doctorate at the University of Göttingen. Before joining Simmons & Simmons, he was a partner at a leading international law firm in Munich, after having practiced with another leading international law firm in Frankfurt. In 2012/13, he was seconded to Deutsche Bank’s group strategy department (AfK), where he worked on various cross-border M&A and integration projects. He is recognized by the leading German business weekly WirtschaftsWoche as one of Germany’s top M&A lawyers. German legal directory JUVE lists him as “frequently recommended”, while IFLR1000 lists him as “notable practitioner” for M&A.
