Brian Powers represents nearly every type of party in corporate restructurings, bankruptcy proceedings, and out-of-court workouts, including debtors, committees, secured and unsecured creditors, and potential asset purchasers. Brian has been closely involved in the firm’s representation of clients in some of the country’s most prominent bankruptcy cases, including representing the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in Residential Capital, LLC (GMAC Mortgage). Large or small, our clients trust Brian to help them achieve their goals through the debt restructuring process, both in and out of court. Brian also regularly represents entrepreneurs, family businesses, and privately-owned companies with corporate transactional matters, including asset acquisitions and sales. Brian’s experience includes the sales of a multi-location radiology practice on Long Island to a large hospital chain, a public relations firm to a larger competitor in Michigan, and the purchase of a large electromechanical parts business in upstate New York. Brian is a long-standing member of the Long Island Elite, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for local Long Island charities. In 2015, the Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce recognized Brian at its “Celebrate Long Island’s Young Professionals” event as one of Long Island’s “30 Under 30.”
