Pallavi Shroff is the Managing Partner of Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co., India’s premier law firm with legacy of over a century. She is a very experienced disputes lawyer with over 43 years’ experience. She has represented various domestic and international clients before national courts, Supreme Court of India, tribunals & legal institutions and has earned national and international acclaim. She has also handled domestic and international arbitrations under the ICC rules, LCIA Rules and SIAC Rules. Pallavi is an alternate member from India at the ICC Court of Arbitrations and was formerly a member of the SIAC governing board. She is also on the governing committee of the Mumbai International Arbitration Centre. She was a member of the High-powered Raghavan Committee set up by the Govt of India to suggest a new competition law regime in India, the Competition Law Review Committee, constituted by the Government of India to review the functioning of the Competition Act and is also a member of the Digital Competition Law committee set up by the Government of India to propose a new law.Pallavi has been closely involved with some of the largest and most challenging litigation and arbitration matters in India with regard to energy, infrastructure, natural resources, mergers & acquisitions, legislative and policy related matters. She appears regularly in the Supreme Court and High Courts of India, and in arbitrations, mediations and international legal disputes. Under Pallavi’s leadership, the Firm was engaged by FICCI and CII to represent the entire Indian Industry in the Presidential Reference proceedings (Special Reference 1 of 2012) being heard by a five Judge Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court. The Judgment passed by the Constitution Bench is one of the most famous and compelling rulings in India on methods of disposal of natural resources in India. She regularly represents several companies such as Nestle, General Electric, Havells, Vale Australia, Vodafone, BHEL and ONGC. She regularly appears before the Competition Commission of India and advises clients on tricky competition law matters. She also advises clients on several white collar crime matters, handholding the client through investigations by law enforcement agencies & defending clients who may get prosecuted. Pallavi is presently an Independent Director on various companies viz. InterGlobe Aviation Limited, Apollo Tyres Limited., PVR Inox Limited Asian Paints Limited and Juniper Hotels Ltd.
